philosophy

The staff at Port Phillip Specialist School believe that the focus for all school activities is the student. We consider that each student is a unique individual, worthy of unconditional respect and commitment.

Because our students have specialist needs, we explore how best to help them make progress through a range of education, specialist, and therapeutic services.

Our Individual Education Programs (IEP) are set by a team including the family and provide a coordinated approach toward learning in order to address the educational, social, and emotional needs of our students. These IEPs meet all the legal, ethical and moral requirements laid out by the Disability Act and Department of Education and Training.

Our Mission

PPSS is committed to values of professional excellence, co-operation and respect while embracing diversity. Our environment is creative, accepting, flexible and positive. PPSS believes that all students will develop capabilities, in communication and independence, to the best of their abilities. PPSS supports students to build confidence and demonstrate capabilities in an environment that is respectful and supportive.
