THE BIG CHALLENGE
It started with the anniversary Great Victorian Bike Ride. 610kms from Mount Gambier to Geelong along the Great Ocean Road and winding through the Otway Ranges. Beautiful. 6,000 other riders would agree. But the opportunity to start from Adelaide and hug the Crayfish Coast through the Coorong National Park and add another 450kms just seemed too good to resist.
But what’s so special about Adelaide to Geelong? Just keep cranking to Melbourne and then it’s a real ride, altogether 1,104kms.
Nothing a bit of training, a few hundred kilometres a week, sensible diet and the odd massage can’t prepare you for! And knowing that it can make a huge difference for lots of very special children makes it all worthwhile.
