What is the Sentral Parent Portal?

The Sentral Parent Portal is one of the school’s methods of communicating with families; and a useful tool in your child’s education. The Sentral Parent Portal comes with a complimentary app which can be installed on your smartphone, or you can log in via a web browser.

The Sentral Parent Portal allows you to:

  • View academic reports
  • View Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Notify of future absences, and explain past absences
  • View the school newsletter
  • And more

How do I use the Portal?

How do I get setup?

Start by downloading the app from the appropriate app store:

  1. Launch the app
  2. Search for Port Phillip Specialist School
  3. If you do not have an account, tap the Register Here link and create an account
  4. Log into your account
  5. Tap the cog button in the bottom right to open the settings page
  6. Tap Manage Access key(s)
  7. Tap the Plus in the top right
  8. Enter the access key provided by the office upon enrolment. You can call the office on 9646 0855, or email the office at port.phillip.ss@education.vic.gov.au and we can resend your access key.

You are now all setup to use the app!

How do I access my child’s reports?

To access your child’s reports, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Sentral for Parents app and sign in
  2. Tap on your child
  3. Tap on Academic Reports
  4. Tap the year you want to view, then tap the “PDF” link

How do I access my child’s IEPs?

To access your child’s IEPs, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Sentral for Parents app and sign in
  2. Tap on your child
  3. Tap on Published Plans
  4. Tap on the year of the plan you want to view
  5. Tap the link to download the IEP

How do I access the newsletter?

To access the newsletter, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Sentral for Parents app and sign in
  2. Tap the Newsletters button
  3. Tap the Go to Newsletter link for the edition you want to view

How do I notify of student absences?

To notify of an upcoming absence, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Sentral for Parents app and sign in
  2. Tap the Absences button
  3. Tap the + in the top right
  4. Fill in the details for the upcoming absence, and tap Send

How do I explain past student absences?

To explain a past absence, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Sentral for Parents app and sign in
  2. Tap the Absences button
  3. Tap the absence you want to explain
  4. Fill in the details for the upcoming absence, and tap Submit

How do I get setup?

Start by opening up the link to Sentral below:

How do I explain a past student absence?

To explain absences, follow these instructions:

  1. Log into Sentral for Parents
  2. Click on absences on the left hand side
  3. Click on the absence in the middle list
  4. Fill in an explanation and click Submit

    How do I notify of student absences?

    To notify of a future absence, follow these instructions:

    1. Log into Sentral for Parents
    2. Click on absences on the left hand side
    3. Click the green Submit a Future Absence Request button at the top middle
    4. Fill in the details including student, reason for absence, and date range
    5. Click Send
